1962年底，唱片公司把The Cascades（瀑布合唱团）带到好莱坞的录音室，帮他们录制第一张单曲《Second Chance》，但是并不成功。
后来他们的第二张单曲，也就是《Rhythm of the Rain》， 却得到了爆炸性的成功，在流行榜上获得了第三名，同时更勇夺抒情歌曲排行榜的冠军。
《Rhythm of the Rain》成了流行音乐史上最令人难忘的经典之一，不但翻唱的人难以数计，更平均每隔几年就要再流行一次。
